From Field to Table
Our organic soy ingredients begin with organic non-GMO (genetically modified organism) soybeans certified under National Organic Program (NOP) rules. To be organically certified, crops are raised in organic soils without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Production is harvested, stored, and delivered IP (identity preserved) and traceable back to the farm or field. Clarkson Soy Products complies with NOP requirements regarding transgenic materials. We enhance those requirements with IP protocols, traceability and testing.
Our Unique Organic Ingredient Process
Clarkson Soy Products’ Organic non-GMO Lecithin is extracted without the use of the chemical solvents hexane and acetone. Since beginning production in 2004, we have continuously improved our production capabilities to meet our customers’ expectations and introduced a complete line of fully functional lecithins. We produce commercially available quantities year-round of high quality organic fluid lecithin, PC-1000 (for use in personal care products), bleached lecithin, and dry blend lecithin, as well as soy meal, soy flour, and refined soy oil.
Non-organic Lecithin (conventional) is produced from crude soybean oil extracted from soybean flakes using hexane, a recognized neurotoxin. Acetone, another synthetic solvent, is used to remove the oil to produce dry lecithin. While the use of volatile solvents and toxic chemicals improves process yields, they present the possibility of dangerous residue carryover and environmental contamination.
